  • LTE software provider MIMOon sold to CommAgility

MIMOon GmbH emerged from a research project at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2006 and is now one of the leading technology developers of software for 4G/LTE mobile communications applications, particularly for private networks. MIMOon develops software for both handheld devices (user equipment) and small cell base stations (eNodeB), supplemented by customer-specific adaptations.

The company had built up a larger organization for its original plan of serving mass markets, but its restructuring to focus on private networks overstretched its financial resources. After filing for insolvency, the company operated profitably on a smaller basis with around 30 employees.

As part of an asset deal, the insolvency administrator of MIMOon GmbH, Dr. Andreas Röpke, has sold all assets and the entire business operations to CommAgility Ltd, Loughborough, UK. All employees were transferred to the acquirer.

ConsusPartner supported the insolvency administrator in financial planning, preparing the documents, identifying the buyer, project management and conducting negotiations.
