Sale of Gastro Concept and bratwerk to create the largest system provider in the snack food sector
GCE SA (CH), a leading provider of system catering concepts in Germany, has sold its subsidiaries Gastro Concept Management and bratwerk by Mario Kotaska, as well as brand licensing rights, to DPK Deutsche Privatkapital.
GCM offers a franchise concept for operating snack containers in front of self-service department stores and DIY stores and designs innovative snack products for franchisees, wholesalers/retailers and petrol stations. The products are developed in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Mario Kotaska. The companies operate a total of 65 locations.
The transaction was carried out with the aim of further growth and a buy-and-build strategy, the first milestone of which has already been achieved with the simultaneous acquisition of Wurstteufel. As the largest system provider in the snack food sector, the company wants to exploit the considerable potential in this area and, in particular, significantly increase its presence in DIY stores and hypermarkets. In DPK, it has found a suitable buyer with extensive experience in the consumer goods sector.
